Hamilton Symphony Orchestra
Gala Concert 2022
Sunday 11 September, at 2:00pm
Hamilton Symphony Orchestra is back! Join us for an uplifting afternoon of orchestral favourites performed by local and regional soloists and the best of regional composers. This year tuba virtuoso Georgina Farrugia will perform Ken Stott's Limestone Suite, a new work created this season. We will also feature the works of Glenthompson-raised composer, David Cundy including the first performance of his vibrant Impennata for orchestra, and his beautiful setting of Wordsworth's poem, Daffodils. Excitingly, two opera singers will make their debut with HSO this year, soprano Leah Oswin from Port Fairy, and our very own lyric baritone, Craig Everingham. Other soloists include the talented Tim Hallam on violin and Geoff Kilminster on double bass, and Tamara Joukoff on cello. Also joining Hamilton Symphony Orchestra this year will be the prize-winning Chamber Singers from the Hamilton and Alexandra College.
Come and enjoy the music of Mozart, Verdi, Strauss, Sullivan, Tchaikovsky, Handel and many others performed by Hamilton Symphony Orchestra under the baton of esteemed local conductor, Angus Christie.
This is a COVIDsafe, accessible and inclusive event for all abilities and demographics. If you need assistance at the venue, please let us know when booking your ticket or contact us directly.
