Ireland the Voyage

TUESDAY 17 FEBRUARY, 7:30PM

Base Entertainment presents: Ireland the Voyage

From the producers of Celtic Illusion comes a powerful new theatrical experience in Ireland: The Voyage, an epic celebration of Ireland’s history, heart, and heritage brought to life through authentic voices, live music, and world-class Irish dance.

Leading the vocal performances is the extraordinary Giselle O’Meara, whose soaring, soulful voice carries the emotion of Ireland’s story from ancient times to today. She is joined on stage by live musicians direct from Ireland, performing with traditional instruments and modern arrangements that honour the island’s rich musical legacy. Their sound forms the beating heart of the show - raw, real, and unmistakably Irish.

The voyage spans centuries: from the mysticism of the Celts to the thunder of Viking invasions, the arrival of the Normans, and the spiritual transformation shaped by St Patrick. Each chapter erupts onto the stage through breathtaking visuals, cinematic soundscapes, and the fiery passion of Irish dance, performed by a cast of world-class dancers whose rhythm and athleticism ignite the stage.

Emotional, exhilarating, and deeply immersive, Ireland: The Voyage invites audiences to feel the pulse of a nation - its triumphs, its tragedies, its music, and its unbreakable spirit, in a live experience they will never forget.

Tim Freedman's Moonlit Deck

THURSDAY 19 FEBRUARY, 8PM

Craft Music Presents: Tim Freedman's Moonlit Deck

After three sold out Hamer Hall shows with MSO in September 2025, Tim Freedman is ready to strip things back and get his cabaret on.

There is nothing more classic than a man and his piano, and an audience ready to listen. With his delicate piano stylings and lyrics of good-natured cynicism, intimate smaller theatres around the country have become a staple of his touring cycle as a relaxing antidote to the highly charged rock rooms and concert halls of The Whitlams’ full band and orchestra shows.

Guiding you through the highlights of his nine album catalogue with songs such as "Blow Up the Pokies" and "No Aphrodisiac", and into some lesser known detours including the recent country outing, The Whitlams Black Stump album "Kookaburra", Tim looks forward to meeting you up close and personal.

After reminding fans and media nationwide why they fell in love with his songs and antics on his widely successful Awake Is The New Sleep 20th Anniversary Tour, Ben Lee is back with a string of 40 regional dates in 2026.

“Being out on the road just for the sake of it is what it’s all about” he says “anniversaries are nice, but the road is where it happens. Night after night, sweaty, a little chaotic, unpredictable. Hand to hand combat”. He winks.

See you out on the road!

Kevin Bloody Wilson

THURSDAY 19 MARCH 2026, 7PM

Kevin Bloody Wilson is one of Australia's most iconic and unapologetic entertainers-a musical outlaw whose songs are as raw as they are hilarious, and whose career has spanned over four decades without ever backing down, toning it down, or selling out.

With multiple platinum albums to his name, Kev's unique brand of politically incorrect comedy and storytelling has earned him not just a cult following, but a legendary status around the globe.

Despite having no formal education beyond the school of hard knocks, Kevin is a master lyricist and a prolific songwriter for other artists, proving that talent, not titles, makes a real artist.

He's performed over 120 shows a year for more than 40 years, packing out theatres from Kalgoorlie to Kansas.

His lyrics might be too spicy for radio, but that's never stopped fans from singing them word-for-word at sold-out gigs. Kev's songs are proudly unfiltered, often outrageous, and always bloody hilarious-exactly the way his fans love them.

From his humble beginnings with a tape recorder in the front bar of a WA pub, to becoming a global comedy institution, Kevin Bloody Wilson remains a one-man phenomenon, a national treasure, and proof that you don't need permission to make people laugh-you just need a guitar, and a DILLIGAF attitude.

Kev is not just a comedy institution, he’s a way of life.

Red Sky Morning

WEDNESDAY 27 MAY, 7PM

Theatre Works Production and HPAC presents: Red Sky Morning

A powerful and poetic story about family, silence, and finding hope in the everyday.

Life in the country can be beautiful — and brutally honest. In Red Sky Morning, we meet a woman, a man, and a girl who live under the same roof but have slowly drifted apart. Over the course of one day, their stories unfold in a series of poetic monologues that reveal love, regret, and the quiet hope that things might get better.

Tom Holloway’s award-winning script captures the heart of regional Australia — the early mornings, the long silences, the unspoken care that holds families together. With sharp wit and tender honesty, it reflects the challenges and strength of small-town life, where connection is both fragile and essential.

Directed by Lyall Brooks, Red Sky Morning is a hauntingly beautiful Australian story that will stay with you — because it feels like home.

Spike the Echidna

MONDAY 29 JUNE, 10AM & 12PM

Little Wing Puppets and HPAC Present: Spike the Echidna

Join us for some school holiday fun with Spike the Echidna!

Spike is the story of an echidna who is stolen from his nest by a greedy rat. He hatches from his egg far away from home. A young girl finds him. She is playing alone in the bush because she is being bullied by other children. He has no spikes yet and she doesn’t know what kind of creature he is. She tries to work out where he comes from, but accidently puts him in dangerous situations–in the nest of a crocodile, an emu and a turtle. He feels frightened, rejected, alone. As the story unfolds, she helps him to discover where he belongs, and he helps her to find her own “spikes” and stand up to the bullies.

Told with shadow theatre, Spike is an interactive experience for the audience, with lively original music by Mal Webb. It is entertaining and fun, as well as a catalyst for a discussion about difference and belonging. It also about the unique biology of Australian animals, especially the egg-laying echidna. After the performance there is a demonstration of shadow puppetry techniques, introducing children to an expressive hands-on story-telling medium that is highly accessible to young people.

UNDERSCORE launched in 2023 at the Adelaide Cabaret Festival and Melbourne’s Brunswick Ballroom to a hugely enthusiastic audience, and has since presented iterations of the project at Melbourne’s Malthouse, Clunes Booktown Festival, The Athenaeum Library, Readings Bookstore’s 50th Anniversary, Archies Creek Hotel and Beleura House.

Velveteen Rabbit

THURSDAY 27 AUGUST 6:30PM & FRIDAY 28 AUGUST 10:30AM

Born in a Taxi, NCM and HPAC present: Velveteen Rabbit

Lights! Cameras! Action! Set within a film shoot, layered with live projections, Physical Theatre Company ‘Born in a Taxi’ thoughtfully and hilariously reimagines this 100 year old children’s story by Margery Williams. Please bring your own favourite snuggly toy to the show! This is a show where the toys are in charge on stage and your own special guest toy is a VIP.

One of those rare stories that dare to tease out complex themes of love, loss and change in a way that allows children to connect with them, Velveteen Rabbit is about a toy rabbit who becomes real…but how did it happen? In the hands of Born in a Taxi, the story is infused with dynamic audience participation, live and recorded music with live stream video and projections layered into the work that plays with multiple scales that reflect the perspective of a child. Playful, visual and poetic.

A must-see for families and anyone who has ever cherished a beloved toy!

Velveteen Rabbit is created by Born in a Taxi, commissioned by Monash University Performing Arts Centre and supported by Creative Victoria.

CONTENT WARNINGS

As the story unfolds, she helps him to discover where he belongs, and he helps her to find her own “spikes” and stand up to the bullies.

Told with shadow theatre, Spike is an interactive experience for the audience, with lively original music by Mal Webb. It is entertaining and fun, as well as a catalyst for a discussion about difference and belonging. It also about the unique biology of Australian animals, especially the egg-laying echidna. After the performance there is a demonstration of shadow puppetry techniques, introducing children to an expressive hands-on story-telling medium that is highly accessible to young people.
